VimpelCom is the world’s sixth largest telecommunications company, with revenues of $US 10 billion and 200 million customers in 14 markets from Italy to Kazakhstan. With such a large and diverse audience, it needed an analytics platform that could monitor and evaluate mentions of the corporate brand and local consumer brands in multiple languages across social, digital and traditional media.
The new system needed to be up and running within three months – but without compromising either the business objectives or the ability to develop the system further in the future. VimpelCom’s corporate and brand communications team therefore decided they needed an experienced partner like Sociagility to accelerate the project and to guide them in scoping, specifying and implementing a solution to meet their short and long-term needs.
There are hundreds of media and social media listening, management, analysis and reporting tools available, each differing significantly in terms of features, functionality, cost and ease of implementation. Using our knowledge and experience of the analytics market, we helped VimpelCom develop a clear set of objectives and scoped the supporting system requirements, then managed a rigorous but fast-track vendor evaluation and selection process on their behalf.
Working closely with the in-house team, we helped VimpelCom to:
